19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts

A comeback Medvedev secured his initial championship for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has had a torrid period, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in particular - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.

Currently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set victory over Frenchman Moutet.

It is the player's maiden championship since the Rome competition and initial on a hard court from spring of 2023.

The win also indicates the Russian has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one various tournaments.

"For the first time I'm at a event with my children at once, so to get a title is really nice," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.

His retrieving approach and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted commentators to question if his skill to perform at the highest level was finished.

However the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play assertively, supported by an enhanced serve.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the first set against the tricky Moutet, taking 4 of the concluding five points to go ahead.

Both players exchanged breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his initial tour victory, took control to create a decider.

Moutet rescued 4 early-game break points in a tight third set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.

Suitably, the winner secured the title with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman unable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
